Pulsed Signal Therapy(PST)
Pulsed Signal Therapy is an integral part of our rehabilitation program, as it is the only non-invasive therapy that is patented to reduce pain and inflammation while repairing damaged cells and promoting new bone growth and cartilage. Pets receiving PST have had absolutely no negative symptoms or side effects; instead they have demonstrated great improvement in mobility, sleep patterns and other pain-related behaviors.
An animal receiving PST will come in every day for ten days for a twenty minute treatment. Once the veterinarian has discussed your pet's focal areas with a technician, the technician will then assist you on a daily basis. The PST unit is completely silent and emits no dangerous rays, so you are welcome to sit as close to your pet as you would like; some animals even seem to relax and get sleepy, especially once they get familiar with it.
While some owners have reported immediate improvement in their pet's mobility and pain symptoms, you should expect to see a progressive improvement over the next two to four months. The frequency of re-treatment is based on the individual symptoms that your pet displays, but some owners report benefits lasting up to two to three years.
Case Study
Meet Joe Bob, a twelve year old pug who has been a patient at Angel since 2007. Last fall Joe Bob began having a hard time getting up, and when he was able to stand up his back end would slip out from underneath him. He was also holding up his left front leg, and with everything combined his mom was having to carry him everywhere he needed to go.
In January Joe Bob's mom brought him in to see Dr. Lane who took radiographs and prescribed anti-inflammatory pain medication for Joe Bob's degenerative arthritis. Dr. Lane also discussed trying pulsed signal therapy to increase Joe Bob's mobility and decrease his pain. Although mom was skeptical, she did some research and learned that PST has been successfully used in human medicine for many years. She couldn't bear to let Joe Bob suffer anymore and decided that anything that might help was worth trying.
After only two PST sessions Joe Bob was showing huge improvement, and after five he was a new dog! He was walking, getting up and using his front leg. As you can imagine, his family was ecstatic to have their old Joe Bob back!
Dr. Lane had explained that in about 6 months Joe Bob may need to come back in for another round of treatment, so when he started to become symptomatic again in July his mom brought him back for another 5 sessions, and once again he has responded fabulously! Joe Bob's mom can't say enough about what pulsed signal therapy has done for her baby and wants other pet owners to know about it too. How does Joe Bob feel about all the attention? Well, he's quite a mellow fellow and didn't have much to say, but he was grinning from ear to ear!
